5th graders at EMS became entrepreneurs this week. They worked hard to make items for their business, learn how to earn a profit, market their product and finally, sell them. The afternoon was an active one as students throughout the school came to the 5th Grade Market. After 1 ½ hours of business, the students earned $628.63. They then experienced what a direct democracy would look like as they discussed and voted to determine where they wanted the money to go. At the end of their voting, they decided to give the money to St. Jude to help other children and their families when they REALLY need it! What a great group of 5th graders!
